Wright came through with 20 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and two steals sans a single error and also put in an efficient defense versus Al Thornton as he delivered a first win for Rain or Shine since taking over from the injury-hit Wayne Chism.
Jewel Ponferada, Jericho Cruz, Maverick Ahanmisi, Jeff Chan, Raymond Almazan and JR Quiñahan contributed double-digit outputs as the Elasto Painters flashed their old, fighting form and pulled off the decisive victory that forged a heavy five-way logjam at sixth place among ROS, NLEX, Blackwater, Globalport and Tropang TNT at 2-3.
Meanwhile, Meralco seeks to stretch its unbeaten run to six games while San Miguel Beer shoots for a third straight win as they clash in a Petron Blaze Saturday Special in Legazpi City at 5 p.m. today.
“We finally got our rhythm back. Hopefully, it’s not too late. I hope we’ll be consistent,” said Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao.
“We got our running game back, we got our passing game back, we got our rebounding back. But we’re still behind in the team standings,” Guiao added. “Going into this game, our objective was to break the losing streak, then we talk about the next game. At least, we achieved our objective.”
The ROS bench chieftain said another good news is the doctors’ go-signal for Paul Lee’s return in their next game.
“He’s trying to get ready. It’s one week from now. I hope he can make a contribution,” said Guiao.
Still to be discussed by the management and the coaching staff is the status of Wright.
Shane Edwards came up with another remarkable game with 33 points and 16 rebounds while Vic Manuel provided big help off the bench, churning out 26 markers and four boards as Alaska Milk stretched its streak to three games with a 105-89 win over Phoenix Fuel in the nightcap.
“Shane is like a track star. He keeps on running and running and running while Vic continues to be awesome,” said Alaska coach Alex Compton.
Edwards and Manuel made the big difference as Alaska rose to 3-1 while dragging Phoenix down to 1-3.
“He’s improving every game. He exercised his leadership in this game. He was instrumental in limiting the production of Al Thornton, one of the best scoring imports in the league. He did the job on both ends. But of course, we have to make an evaluation on whether to keep him or to get another import,” said Guiao.
In his third game in the local pro league, Wright still struggled with his shooting (6-of-16) but made up for it with his effort to defend, get the rebounds and issue assists.
The whole ROS team hit at a 48-percent clip, including 13 three-pointers as the E-Painters handed the Road Warriors a third loss after earlier defeats at the hands of the Phoenix Fuel Masters (106-118) and the Mahindra Enforcers (99-106).
Wright, Almazan, Chan, Ponferada and Cruz formed the lethal combination working on the E-Painters’ breakaway in the second quarter.
They took the half at 58-43 and sustained a tremendous job on both ends in the second half to hack out the lopsided win.
They won the rebounding battle, 58-42, and pounded on the Road Warriors, 64-48, on points inside the paint.

However, this was hard while I was in the middle of the ocean and the app did not work well in it’s offline mode. When I heard they were releasing an anime, I was hoping they would cover the entire manga. As many of you may already know, it does not do this. When my brother started collecting all the hard cover copies of the manga, I never found the motivation to look through it, even though it is probably the best rendition of 0079 to date. Through all of this however, I found myself mesmerized at the kits being released, especially the Guntank Early Type.
While I was out to sea during the fourth quarter of 2015, a good friend of mine purchased this kit as either a birthday gift, or a Christmas gift to me. I am not sure which one of those two it was for, but I am grateful either way. As with the Dom R35, this was one of the many kits waiting for me at home.
Background
The Guntank Early Type is a prototype mobile suit that only appears in the first episode of Gundam The Origin. It was used as an escape vehicle by none other than the young Casval Rem Deikun, also known as Char Aznable. That is about all I could find out (my brother says I need to read Volume V in order to do proper research on the lore of this mobile suit).
Chassis and Treads
Although I was excited by this kit, the one thing that confused me the most was the treads. Why the kit gave the ability to move the tread housing and articulate them as arms did not make sense. I can only guess that this allows for the least amount of moving parts while allowing a little play to simulate shocks. Beyond that, I feel that feature is quite useless.
The Chassis, due to the lack of moving parts, is quite solid. On top of this, the details like the open vents in the aft end, and the pilot hatch on the forward end gives this mobile suit a post war tank aesthetic.
Upper Body
To further the development of the post war tank chassis, the chest is needlessly extended quite a bit. This twin cannon turret reminds me of a Flakpanzer Gepard (A german anti-aircraft cannon tank developed in the 60s).
And of course, this would not be a Guntank, let alone, a mobile suit without the head and the arms. The head is mounted on a standard socket poly-cap, as opposed to the twin ball joint poly-cap typical of most high grade head joints. This actually allows the head to have more surface area on the joint allowing for a very solid grip which in turn makes the head feel very solid. However, this is not carried over to the arms.
Disappointment
As I was building this kit in order of the instructions, everything about this kit was amazing. Even the shoulder sockets were awesome. However as soon as I got to the forearms, I was severely disappointed. If you even slightly bump the forearms, you will knock them off. If this a kit breaking flaw? No, but it is disappointing to see such a solid build up until this point.
Armaments
Twin cannons, twin hand guns: these are the weapons housed by the Guntank. There are no shields, there are no melee weapons. Of these, the shoulder mounted cannons are my favorite. It has been quite some time since I had seen what seems to be dynamic hydraulics in a kit, and it especially is rare or maybe even non-existent in the high grade level. The quad guns mounted on the hands are only what I can imagine as mid ranged rapid fire machine guns. I have always hated how the hands were not actually depicted as rotating barrels like a minigun, but just four separate machine guns. Despite my opinion on the matter, they were well thought out. However, as mentioned before, the forearms like to fall off with the slightest touch.
Overall Opinion
As mentioned multiple times, the forearms like to fall off quite easily. This would normally make me shy away from a kit. However, the rest of it felt so good that it kind of drowns out the terrible flaw in the hands. Maybe because the kit is not based on those hands that I can forgive it every time I pull the arms off. Another thanks to the friends who thought of me while I was out to sea, hope this allows you to throw some more money at Gunpla, and thanks for reading this far or at least enjoying the photos.

Aku Tidak Tahu (Aku dan Serum-G) #JHedzWorlD
Aku dan Serum-G. Tiga kata yang harus aku untai menjadi ratusan bahkan ribuan kalimat. Tapi aku tidak tahu. Siapa sangka aku bisa menjadi bagian pundi estafet perjuangan dakwah di fakultas ini, FMIPA sebut saja. Memang sebelumnya aku pernah tergabung dalam barisan dakwah di kampus tarbiyah ini. Ya karena itu hobbiku, hobiku o-n-l-i-n-e. Sekadar meng-update jadwal shalat, kul-tweet di waktu senggang, mem-broadcast sms atau pesan dakwah itu tidak sulit. Ya, asal jangan diberi deadline desain, aku suka. Memang tak mudah tergabung dalam barisan dakwah, meniti jalan yang memang harus dilalui langkah demi langkah, melewati onak yang kalau sampai aku menginjaknya habislah aku. Kalau boleh memilih, aku tidak akan memberikan pilihan. Bukan ya atau tidak, namun gantung.
“If you never try, you will never know”, satu kalimat yang selalu aku junjung, motto hidupku. Aku pernah melakukan kesalahan di jalan dakwah sebelumnya. Tidak amanah? Ah, aku tetap menjalankan tugasku untuk online di akun ummat itu. Aku hanya tidak pernah tergabung, bersatu dalam lingkaran yang sengaja mereka ciptakan untuk memberi ketenangan pada hati-hati yang rindu akan Rabb-nya. Untuk itu, aku mencoba memungut sebagian helai daun yang kering, dan berguguran itu lalu aku simpan, setidaknya daun itu tidak jatuh berserakan (re: semangat). Aku yang tak bisa memilih pada akhirnyapun memilih. Karena hidup adalah pilihan diantara beberapa pilihan yang memang harus dipilih. Agak ruwet, mudah-mudahan kalian mengerti maksudku.
Jika ada satu alasan yang memang benar-benar menjadi alasan kenapa “aku” ada dalam lingkaran dakwah ini: Aku Tidak Tahu. Sempat kutanya pada seseorang kenapa setiap orang harus menyampaikan kebaikan?
“Sebab hal itu adalah kewajiban” Katanya.
“Manusia yang dilahirkan ke dunia telah memiliki kontrak perjanjian untuk berdakwah, menyampaikan kebaikan” Katanya lagi dengan semangat berapi-api.
“Meskipun orang itu belum baik apakah kita harus menyampaikan kebaikan?” Aku bertanya lagi, seolah tak ingin menjadi agen penyampai kebaikan sebab dirasa aku belum baik, namun sebenarnya ingin.
“Katakanlah hal benar meski kebenaran itu bertentangan dengan dirimu, Kata Rasulullah SAW. Kamu paham kan maksudku?” Dia menjelaskan membuat aku bingung harus menanggapi apa lagi.
“Kalau dakwah hanya dilakukan oleh orang-orang baik lantas bagaimana orang-orang yang baru berhijrah menjadi lebih baik? Sebab kebaikan harus tetap disampaikan, disebarkan” Katanya menambahkan lagi melihat aku yang diam termenung.
“Lantas dakwah tak perlu bersama-sama kan boleh sendiri?” Aku memastikan sambil bertanya. “Hal apa yang lebih indah dari sayap-sayap yang saling berterbangan menyebar kebaikan? Hati mereka saling menyatu karena terpaut cinta pada Rabbnya. Jika mereka lelah, ada sahabat yang saling menguatkan. Sahabat yang saling membimbing” Katanya sedikit berbisik, seolah tak ada satu orangpun yang boleh mendengar.
Aku lebih suka sendiri: kataku pelan.

Time for some joined-up thinking about the retirement age | Letters #JHedzWorlD
Before any rash decisions are made on increasing retirement ages (Be ready to work into your 70s, 2 March) I urge people to look at the evidence of the national review of health inequalities by Michael Marmot and his excellent colleagues. In clear, stark slides this shows the evidence of how and why less advantaged people will not be well enough to work even to current retirement ages, let alone longer, without significant shifts in their wellbeing.
Couple that with growing international evidence that, in some countries including the UK, life expectancy gains may be reaching a plateau for most people given higher rates of chronic diseases, we have strong indications of the individual and societal risks of putting the pension cart before the wellbeing horse. There are far superior alternatives: invest early in health promotion and disease prevention before unsustainable sickness treatments, and tackle the real social, economic and environmental factors that cause such ill health. People of all ages should demand no less from those who determine their futures.

• It was interesting to hear Iain Duncan Smith stating in parliament that other advanced economies were also raising their retirement ages. He cited Germany and his assertion went unchallenged. True, in 2013 Germany introduced a plan to raise the retirement age to 67. This, however, was altered in 2014 when the electorate forced Angela Merkel’s Christian Democrats into coalition with the Social Democratic Party. In the interests of fairness and with an overwhelming parliamentary majority (almost 400) in the Bundestag, the planned retirement age was reduced for many who would otherwise have been unfairly penalised from 67 to 63. A negotiated solution unlikely to happen in Britain’s “democracy”.

• Working past the age of 70 sounds pretty good if you are sitting on a bench in either of the two Houses of Parliament, or maybe working at a job you enjoy. If you’re standing behind a counter, walking the aisle of a distribution warehouse, or are in some form of manual work it doesn’t sound so good. Any extension to the age of retirement should take into consideration what age the person started to work. Those who left school aged 16 or 17 are already putting in some cases five or six years more labour than those who went to university. Taking this into consideration, shouldn’t they gain some benefit from these extra years by being able to retire earlier?

But the government’s carefully worded phrase “fuller working lives” disguises the broader impact of these changes: a significant increase in the UK workforce.
Over the next five years, the working population will increase by 2.5 million university and college leavers, 1.5 million economic migrants and 2 million “non-retirees”. Where is the economic plan to provide secure, well-paid (even fulfilling) careers for these 6 million workers?

• I remember as a new college lecturer in the early 1980s having to prepare and deliver “early retirement courses”. The reasoning then was that we were all going to be retiring in our 50s, we were all going to have much more leisure time, and all the research said that was good, healthy and the mark of a civilised country – a demonstration that there was more to life than working.
Over the years it has become “not good, unhealthy and unaffordable”. If this government has its way, anyone nearing working age today has 60 years of work to look forward to at which stage, if they have any decency, they’ll die to save the country expense and it takes the likes of Owen Jones to ask why and proffer an alternative.

NEW YORK, United States – Lady Gaga on Friday described her Oscar performance with rape survivors as the most difficult of her life, saying that she remains in chronic pain from a decade-old assault.
The pop star on Sunday offered an emotional performance of her song “Till It Happens To You” at the film industry’s gala awards, with university students who have experienced rape joining her on stage with arms joined in solidarity.
“I was never such a wreck as I was the week before this performance,” Gaga told New York radio station Z100.
Speaking of her rape, she said: “It’s the thing that I am the most ashamed of in my life and I have always felt that it was my fault until this week.”
Gaga, who turns 30 this month, has previously revealed that she was raped by an older man when she was 19.
But she said that the Academy Awards performance marked a coming out of sorts, as previously the issue was “swept under” with people quickly moving on to other topics.
“People don’t know this about me because I don’t share it, and I know they see me as this kind of celebrity that has success and money and the world watching and that I must have no problems.
“But I actually suffer from chronic pain all the time and it’s from this paralyzing fear that I’ve experienced for almost 10 years,” she said.
Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, said that she had compartmentalized the experience in the back of her mind but that it “stays in your body, in your tissues.”
“So I feel physical pain, and there are a lot of people who suffer from chronic pain who have been through a traumatic experience,” she said.
Gaga said that she later got matching tattoos with some of the young people at the performance, who had come on stage with slogans written on their arms such as “Not At All Your Fault” and “Unbreakable.”
Gaga was nominated for an Oscar for the song which appears in “The Hunting Ground,” a documentary about rape on university campuses.
She was introduced by Vice President Joe Biden who encouraged viewers to sign a pledge on the site itsonus.org.
The pledge, which has seen a surge of interest since the Oscars, commits the signatory to intervene in situations when a person has not or cannot consent to sex.

Mr. Li said China’s economy would grow by 6.5 percent to 7 percent this year. He gave a picture of a government facing some trying times, including — implicitly — problems left by his predecessors.
“Domestically, problems and risks that have been building up over the years are becoming more evident,” he said in his report. “Downward pressure on the economy is increasing.”
Still, with the right changes, Mr. Li said, it would be possible for China to achieve an average annual growth rate of 6.5 percent from 2016 to 2020.
Pain for Failing Industries
Mr. Li devoted a big part of his report to the potentially painful adjustments to industries that will be needed to shore up growth.
Gluts of coal, steel, cement and other industrial commodities have been generating heavy pollution but dwindling profits. Mr. Li indicated that China would need to lay off millions of workers in failing factories and mines. But the government will set aside about $15.3 billion to support laid-off workers, he said.
“We will focus on addressing the overcapacity in the steel, coal and other industries facing difficulties,” he said. “We will address the issue of ‘zombie enterprises’ proactively yet prudently by using measures such as mergers, reorganizations, debt restructurings and bankruptcy liquidations.”
Energy and the Environment
Even as the Chinese government is trying to shore up economic growth, it is attempting to reduce smog, polluted water and contaminated soil, topics that have stirred popular anger.
But reducing the pollution blighting many parts of China depends on cutting back on the heavy industry, mining and coal use that underwrite much of the economy.
The government’s next five-year plan, which was issued along with Mr. Li’s report, laid out goals to cut pollution from this year to the end of 2020. The carbon intensity of the economy — the amount of carbon dioxide pollution released to create each unit of growth — would fall 18 percent over those years, according to the plan.
Military Spending Slows as Revenue Dips
China surprised many experts when its military budget for the year grew by 7.6 percent, far below the double-digit increases that have become the norm. But the Ministry of Finance report issued Saturday shows that the growth of government revenue is slowing down, along with the general economy. This year, revenues for the central and local governments are projected to grow by 3 percent, about half of last year’s rate of 5.8 percent.
Old-Fashioned Planning Still Matters
China has come a long way from the period in the 1950s when it absorbed ideas and expertise from the Soviet Union. But a few legacies persist, including a liking for grand five-year plans, and on Saturday the government released its next blueprint, which will guide the country through to the end of 2020.
But there is an important aspect to this old-fashioned planning device where climate change and the planet’s future are concerned. In the latest plan, the government elaborated on its goals to cut carbon dioxide pollution from coal and other fossil fuels, and to expand construction of nuclear power plants, hydropower dams, and solar and wind power.
